A note from Ann
I’ve been interested in helping people since I was a child. When problems arose in my own family growing up, I remember wanting to talk about what was wrong instead of sweeping the issues under the rug.
It didn't come as much of a surprise when I majored in psychology during my undergrad time at Drew University (Madison, NJ). Because I knew I wanted to go into the helping profession, I pursued a master’s degree in social work at Columbia University (New York, NY). After a few years of providing employee assistance counseling and account management for various employers at United Healthcare, I decided to pursue my PhD in social work at the University of Maryland (Baltimore, MD). Now, I’ve been in private practice for over 20 years. During COVID, I attended the University of Michigan and obtained my Sex Therapy Certification to gain additional knowledge to help clients with sexual struggles.
But that's enough about me, I want to learn about you. First, I want to say that I know that it can be difficult to reach out when you need help, but you are not alone. I aim to make our sessions an open, comfortable, and honest environment so you can flourish. I want to lift you up so you can be the best version of yourself. My approach to therapy blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy (MBCT), and Strength-Based psychology. Together, we will focus on developing your own personal resilience toolkit, so you have the skills to cope with life’s stressors.

I help teens and adults who are struggling with a variety of issues whether they're at home, school, or work. Together, we will look at patterns of behavior, your upbringing, environment, and current interactions to determine the next steps for you to take toward a better future. I understand the challenges of parenting, divorce, struggling with anxiety, grieving the loss of a loved one, and dealing with substance abuse, sex problems, and work stressors. We will work to adopt new attitudes and feelings toward life situations by making small changes to self-defeating behaviors that will result in life-altering abilities to cope with feelings of anxiety, stress, and depression.
Our partnership will help you find the happiness you deserve.
